For the past two weeks the car has been trying to get my attention. Took it in for service and the code they pulled was P06DA00. This DTC is referencing the oil pump valve located inside the engine oil pan. Has anybody else dealt with this?

Car is running perfectly aside from the light show on the display. No track days, no mountain drives, nothing that would have contributed to any form of oil starvation. My mechanic just sent me a quote for almost $1800 to replace a $15 sensor. It's all labor. Help!

This is a video I found of the same code and repair on a '16 CLA45. Don't have to drop the subframe on the CLA like the GLA.

Thanks youseh. Sounds like we searched a lot of the same places. Different engine and ECU. Interesting similarities though.

So it sounds like my only option is to grab my ankles and pay for this. I've had nearly 100K trouble-free miles between two GLA45's so I guess I was overdue. Would have been nice if MBZ had stepped up with a TSB or recall though. They redesigned the part itself. If that isn't the OEM acknowleging a design error I don't know what is.

Oh yeah, they definitely openly acknowledged it but washed their hands of it via the tsb letter saying it wasn't a problem. Which it seems like its not because who knows how long we've had these stored. I could have bought mine with it for all I know, I didn't scan it then. I guess your options are ignore it like many did or pay to fix it with the updated part for peace of mind.

Before the redesigned part, it seemed like when people fixed it it came back 6 months later. (looked at posts way back in the mbworld forum and read that happening a few times)
Are you talking about the M133 in the GLA45 or the M274 in the C-class because I could find anything from MBZ related to the PA06DA00 code on the M133.

Grabbed my ankles and had my mechanic replace the faulty oil pump valve this week. Worst $2K I've ever spent. Picked up the car and didn't even get a mile away before the dashboard lit up again. Took it right back, left the car on so they could see the dash and handed over the keys.

Before I picked up the car my mechanic told me they pulled two more fault codes in addition to P06DA00...

  • U1457 current fuel level signal from rear SAM unit intermittent
  • P2610 ECM/PCM engine off timer performance

While I waited, fuming, they scanned the car again. The good news is that P06DA00 and P2610 didn't come back. The bad news is that the U1457 fault code did. Now I know what's causing all this. Too bad I'm broke.

UPDATE: The issue has been RESOLVED and all codes have cleared themselves! Different devices and systems weren't communicating properly because the CAN bus was failing. Pic below.

The shop that diagnosed the issue and fixed it is owned by a Mercedes master tech. No reason for me to ever take the care anywhere else now. It sounds like my old mechanic basically spent $3K of my money (and wanted to spend more) fixing random error codes 1-by-1 rather than trying to figure out WTF was really going on. Never again. An expensive lesson learned.
