UPDATE: Spoke with the dealership this morning. The said since my last visit a few weeks ago, there was a new service bulletin from MB and they are pulling my transmission to "replace some parts". The service advisor couldn't tell me what, but I plan on finding out (as well as getting the info on that bulletin) when I pick up my GLA on Wednesday.

Wow, at that level of disassembly, I would highly question whether the dealership techs will get everything re-assembled exactly as factory built. Especially if they're getting paid flat rate for an engine/transmission R&R. Would take an experienced, skilled and conscientious tech to do it right. Hope your dealership employs that type of tech.

My dealer visit revealed a code for a misfire on cylinder number 1 see report enclosed.

I guess this debunks the Consumer Reports magazine contention that there are no replaceable parts in the 7G-DCT.
I was wondering if it was a swap for a new DCT, the techs sometimes call them "dual clutches" just like ordinary Joes and I ran into this in another forum where the person thought that they had replaced their clutches when they had actually swapped the entire transmission. Not saying this happened here, but it is possible. I know neither Porsche nor BMW works on them at the dealer level, they are replaced with a new or reman, not sure about Mercedes.

I've had a personal relationship with this dealer for 12 years. The thought of them assigning a project like this to some bonehead tech never even crossed my mind.

Negative on the entire DCT replacement. Just the clutch (which doesn't require splitting the transmission cases).

My car is in the shop for the same thing . It's been in for over 20 days for dual clutch and electrical plate in transmission. How was your car after they put it back together. I'm nervous it won't be like brand new! And is the fix better for you now?

I also had my dual clutch replaced and fixed problem . So far so good , drives 100% better now.
Glad to hear they got it fixed for you. Bummer it took so long.

My GLA has another thousand miles on it since the clutch replacement and it's still running smooth. Talked to my Service Writer last week just to let him know things were all good and he said there still isn't a recall notice or TSB that points to an ongoing issue.

However, the tech who worked on my GLA said he was able to find multiple similar issues on his internal tech forum, where replacing the clutch is the solution.

Long story short, if it's shifting rough bring it in. And of course, video helps. I know for a fact that MBUSA has my clip on file.
