From: How hi-tech cars without keys have put thieves back in the driving seat

The Association of Chief Police Officers says BMW and Mercedes — two major users of keyless ignitions — are the third and fourth most stolen cars in the UK, behind Ford and Vauxhall, even though there are fewer of them and they are more likely to be kept safe in garages than cheaper cars.
How many of the KeylessGo exploits are really occurring for the Mercedes brand is unclear. Just wanted to post this as I saw it in the news today.

BMW had an announcement last month about vulnerabilities in the ConnectedDrive system, and thankfully it has already been updated remotely. Does Mercedes do OTA updates in a similar fashion our would fixes like this require a visit to the dealer?

Honestly, I do not know what the new COMMAND unit is capable of. If history is anything to go from I would suspect that you'll need to head to a dealer and have it hooked up to the MB STAR computer to update. Total guess though... :)
