I just recently replaced the factory tires, Continental ProContact , 235/45/19 , with Michelin's CrossClimate 2 tires. I have to say the michelins's are far superior to the Continental's, and is a all-weather tire, which saves having to keep two sets of tires. The michelin's run quiet and handle really well, in dry/wet and snowy conditions.

Michelin is always my favorite brand. Well done!

In the USA the OE 18" is Conti ProContact SSR and is a run-flat-like MOE A/S tire. The 19" is more typically a Goodyear Eagle LS-2 run-flat-like MOE A/S. Of course OE tire vendors often change based on periodic best spec-meeting price to the factory, so my MY2018 cited are likely now different. Also not sure what model year is your GLA or AWD/FWD transmission (good to include in your signature block).

The CrossClimate 2 are not run-flat tires as far as I know. That is one major reason why more comfortable, more quiet, and better handling, as well of course those innate Michelin traits.

Some recent further discussion on run-flat tires: Newbie here need help GLA250 2018 tires need replacement...

I am considering getting Michelin PilotSport 4Ss when the time comes to replace the factory A/S Continentals and putting them on sportier wheels (cost allowing). I know PS4s are usually put on very high-performance cars so are they overkill for a daily-driven GLA250? I hope to eventually upgrade this car into something I can use on the track (if I keep it for that long or don't get a separate track vehicle).
Would PS4s be a good choice or should I choose something else?

They’re a nice tire but overkill on a 250. Have you ever/do you regularly chirp the tires on your normal driving? If no, just stick with all season.

I actually like the OE Conti 5p better for pure performance, but they get hated on bc they’re a pretty sticky tire and wear out faster than the Michelin’s. The Conti’s kick rocks at almost every temp and the Michelin’s need to get heated up to do the same, so out the gate on cold tires the Conti’s are superior. A niche real life situation where this translates is autocross where a lot of venues are pretty small so don’t allow burnouts/tire warm ups before the runs…

Anyway.. 250 on a track? I’d think you’d need a BBK at the very least which run a few grand alone. I bet you’d have more fun with a few thousand dollar Miata with some mods as an entry to motorsports..

I chirp the tires on purpose sometimes lol

HG motor sports made a track spec CLA250, I am not going to take it that far with a roll cage and all that but I want to get hopefully 300HP out of it. What is a BBK?
