New to this forum. Reading great information here. Thanks everyone.

Quick question: looking at a new gla45 and got a good price. Comes with the performance exhaust option. I'm interested in a more "low key" understated profile. How hard should it be for the dealer to remove the performance exhaust option and replace with the standard option?

I doubt it would be *that* hard, but my 2 cents: get a GLA250. Whatever deal you got, I'm not sure I see the point of paying more for the GLA45 and then immediately detuning it. And there is some kind of AMG effects package for the GLA250 that has the bumpers and what not.

Yea it might be better to take the GLA250 and upgrade it where you'd like than buying the AMG and removing stuff you don't want. I just think it'll be much cheaper.

easy answer, find another local gla45 w/o exhaust and swap for $$$

Yah if you really want the 45, get that offer in writing and bring it to another dealership that has the one you're looking for and ask them to match or even beat it. Really don't think the 45s are moving that quick out of the lots.

Yes, same power output. Nowadays with CAFE being what it is the OEMs are picking up most of the low hanging fruit, there are few cars left where the muffler(s) represents any restriction to the upstream exhaust flow.

All the perf exhaust does is "startle pedestrians" when you fire it up.

Frankly, I love it. Turning 62 with a long line of super-quiet luxury cars behind me and getting a car that transports me back to my twenties is a treat. Why do I give a flying F how many peds jump.

If I want quiet I'll take the wife's Acura.

He he, love it. The young whipper snappers think that you get a little older and all of a sudden you don't like to have any fun. I'm been teaching them different for years one or more startled pedestrian at a time. ****, where is my Viagra, I'm gonna go startle the ol lady... :)
