2015 GLA 250 4matic.

1. Took car in for emissions test and it failed due as unable to connect. Fuse is fine!! The last time I brought it in for scheduled servicing they indicated that the battery needed to be replaced. Would inability to connect to the OBD2 port be caused by low battery readings? (probably unrelated but they said that some of the challenges we've had with blind spot assist are caused by the low battery so was thinking this might be the same). Car starts fine so haven't replace yet.

2. ALSO, can I change my battery without the use of a battery tender? Will there be radio or other electronic issues? Tough time telling what specifically the aux battery powers.

Thanks in advance!!

Can not help on the OBD2 question. The battery can be removed without using a tender. There is no radio codes or any other codes you need to worry about.

The aux battery is for the Stop/Go. When stopped like at a stoplight the engine shuts off, then when you give it gas the engine restarts. The aux battery is the power for this function.
