Mercedes GLA off-road package

I heard the following from a friend.

In response to criticism at the Frankfurt auto show, Mercedes will actually begin offering an off-road package in some markets that lifts the car by 1.5 inches.

Does anyone have any further details or pics of this GLA off road pack?

Haven't seen anything yet, New York show just happened and they didn't announce anything their too. Going to have to keep waiting.
really? why not just buy a taller car? there is the GLK. THe ML. GL...
I wonder how popular it will be, seems like most that will buy this will be city folk that wont care much for off-roading.
i dont see this package being popular at all
thats what i thought. at least the option is their
I'd actually be interested in the increased ride height more for cosmetic purposes and sitting higher... don't judge me haha.

Now that the build your own is out, is the ground clearance higher on 4matics in the USA? or will there be a separate offroad package?
Don't forget the lower GLA is the most aerodynamic crossover available, far better than the Q3, X1, Evoque and the new Lexus NX... so if you pump it upwards that will decrease and possibly be slower...
Despite seeing all this, I just don't think that I am going to trust the GLA to do much off-roading. i'd buy a Jeep if i wanted to go off-road.

What sort of driving do you plan on doing with your GLA?
The GLA receives the newest generation of full-time 4Matic, it is designed to perform quite well in off-road situations and has been tested as such.

We bought our GLA's because we needed versatility and compact size. They are small enough to be great for city-living/parking, but also can be taken up to the mountains for hiking or snow-skiing, beach, etc. I took mine through the paces, gravel roads, dirt mountain inclines etc. and it has performed wonderfully.

Great choice, the GLA clearly does a great job of that.
Were there any other vehicles you were considering that came close to delivering what the GLA offers?

Definitely not. For it's compact size, there are limited choices. The Audi Q3 (in my opinion) felt much cheaper inside, and as much as I love the Quattro system, (I've owned a couple Audi's in the past) it just felt more hollow than the Benz.

TheBMW X1 was not even worth noting. Didn't feel as fun to drive, and the interior looked very plastic and boring. The X1 didn't feel like it could actually go off-road, and I liked how much taller the GLA sits. I've also added 'slightly' taller tires to my new 19's as well, so it feels ready for mild off-road adventures. I also tested the Mini Cooper and the Nissan Juke. I'm a bit of a sybarite, so I just didn't enjoy the interiors in either. I love the quirky visage of both, but the lack of luxury was disenchanting.

I realize this is all individual perception, of course.

All said, my wife and I both are really enjoying the GLA as a daily driver.
