Mercedes-Benz GLA200 CDI first drive Review | Autocar

plenty to like about a car we’d confidently describe as the best yet to come from Daimler’s new compact generation.
That's high praise!

I know this is a UK review but do you think MB will ever consider bringing the diesel model over to america?

This is what a lot of americans need.

Does anyone really need a luxury car? :D

That said, the diesel would make sense for many American Mercedes-Benz buyers, but I doubt we will see a diesel anytime soon. If Mercedes were to invest the money in federalizing the powertrain, they would offer it across the CLA-Class line as well, and I have not heard reputable rumors of an upcoming diesel CLA for the U.S. market.
you're right, no one actually needs a luxury car, we all just want one.
at least with this being a diesel it makes it a want that's easier to keep around, less of a burden.
will this even step foot in america?
it seems like they will try to keep it as a euro-only model
as always, america always ends up not getting any cool diesels like this.
it's always boring VW diesels that make it here from the germans
would north americans actually buy a GLA/CLA diesel?
That's a good question, I know the demand for diesels is their, but haven't seen anything on paper that they would want a german diesel. MB should do a survey
does the GLK diesel sell in NA?
I read an article the other day that said GLK diesel models comprise nearly 30% of all U.S. market GLK sales...so there certainly is a market! Bring on the GLA Bluetec!
It is available in Canada and is less expensive than the gas model. Go figure!
I noticed a lot of them in Canada when i went to visit. Seems like Canadians really love compact SUV's

interesting.. thats new..
Not surprised this is happening, brands tend to treat canada different, treat them almost like how they treat european
are there any other diesels in this category of cars available to buy for north americans?
not that i know of right now but i wont be surprised if it grows with benz involved
within the german brands they seem to offer diesel options. not all the japanese brands carry them
