Mercedes is hard at work on a new small crossover called the GLA, which will make its first public appearance in concept form at the Shanghai Auto Show in April.
The GLA will ride on Mercedes’ new front-wheel drive platform that will also underpin the A-Class, B-Class, and CLA-Class. The small crossover will offer all-wheel drive along with gas and diesel engines. The base model will likely be the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder found in the base CLA, rated at 208 hp.
Styling wise, the crossover is supposed to adopt nice curves from the A-Class, unlike the much more angular GLK.
The concept version that debuts in China is likely to be close to the production version that we will see later on in the year.
