Mercedes-Benz GL Coupe to begin production in 2016

Mercedes-Benz is rumored to be working on a GL Coupe that would rival the BMW X7 that is also in a pre-production phase. The GL Coupe would be produced for the American and Chinese markets, but Mercedes is not expecting great sales from the model. The new model will hopefully increase the popularity of M-B, and production will not require a biginvestment because it will share technology and electronics with the GL-Class.

The GL Coupe wiil have a longer roof, a new front grille, headlights, and bumpers, and an upgraded interior. A 6-cylinder diesel engine will produce over 300 HP! Like the CLA, the GL Coupe will have a nine-speed automatic transmission.
