Supply strain will lessen once Mercedes gets the Indian facility up and running to service SE Asia...

Slated to launch in India on September 30, Mercedes’ GLA Class will initially be introduced in India as a completely built unit. However, the company is also evaluating options to assemble GLA Class and its A3 rivaling CLA Class locally at its manufacturing unit located in Chakan in suburbs of Pune. Confirmation on the same has come from officials at Mercedes Benz India, the company has also hinted at expanding its manufacturing facility to accommodate assembling of the aforementioned vehicles. Both the vehicles will be conceived on the same MFA platform as underpinned by their smaller siblings, A and B Class.

Has there been delays in shipments or something? What exactly is the strain that you speak of?

India is really popular for manufacturing right now. It has a huge population, is well situated, and has a growing middle class that is made stronger by investments in manufacturing.

Have you not heard about the manufacturing/supply strains with the CLA? GLA is directly related to CLA so ostensibly we can assume a similar drawback for the GLA. Weather its a production bottleneck, lack of components or demand far outstripping supply.
