I'm currently using this Garmin Map Pilot 2022 SD card. I installed in late 2023. As my state changed major highway exit numbers since this was released they're improperly annunciated but otherwise works just fine (exit road names didn't change and signs list old & new numbers). Literally order of magnitude cheaper on Amazon then getting the same thing from the Benz dealership at that time.

Of course presumes that the GLA is prewired for same (most in the USA are, at least from 2017 and on). Other world regions of course have different options.

Yes, you can update the GPS of your 2016 GLA, either via Mercedes with an official update (SD card or USB), or with third-party solutions. Check the compatibility with your system (Garmin Map Pilot or other). A dealer can give you more details about the available version.
