the Q3 is being talked about in several threads right now so i figured it could be handy to have an on site reference for both vehicles standard equipment.

I do want to preface first by saying that the Q3 features were taken from the UK, there has been no official release from Audi USA yet.

GLA Standard Features:

  • Power Liftgate
  • 18 inch wheels
  • Chrome roof rails
  • 5.8" color display
  • Bluetooth
  • M270 2.0T 4 cylinder engine
  • 7 speed DCT gearbox
  • Electric park brake
  • Collision Prevention Assist
  • Attention Assist

Q3 Standard Features:

  • Start-Stop with energy regeneration
  • Efficiency DIS (fuel saving tips, gear change indicator in manual mode)
  • 17 inch tires
  • electromechanical parking brake
  • space saver spare wheel
  • Concert radio- Single CD drive and SDHC memory card reader (up to 32GB),Speed-dependent volume control (GALA) and TP memo – automatically saves traffic news when driving
  • 6.5” display screen
  • 8 passive speakers in total, front and rear with a total output of 80 watts
  • Audi Music Interface- connection to Apple iPod from 4th generation and Apple iPhone as well as USB storage media and MP3 players
  • Bluetooth interface
  • Voice control system
  • Preparation for SD card based navigation - allows SD card based navigation function and maps to be retro-fitted using parts from Audi Genuine Accessories
  • Smoking Package
  • Light and Rain sensors
  • rear park sensors
  • First Aid Kit
  • Standard seats in ‘Initial’ cloth upholstery
  • Manual adjustment for driver and front passenger seat height, forwards and backwards position, backrest angle, head restraints and seat belt height
  • Contrasting finish in anthracite metallic finish on the front and rear under body guard, wheel arch trims and lower door trims
  • Body coloured door mirrors; electrically adjustable and heated with integrated LED indicator signals
  • Heated windscreen washer jets
  • Halogen headlights with electric headlight range control and daytime running lights

there are a few notables here, ipod/Mp3 integration and dual zone climate control on GLA is available through the premium pack. the Q3 has standard heated mirrors...

Feel free to compare optional packages or additional trim levels, this was just a good place to begin :D

There was an official press release for their 2015 model to be launched in NA later this year. The specs differ significantly from the base UK version:

• 200 hp 2.0-liter TFSI® engine with six-speed Tiptronic® transmission
• Panoramic sunroof with power retractable sunshade
• Audi xenon plus front lighting with LED DRLs and taillights
• Heated, 12-way power front seats
• Leather seating surfaces
• Audi advanced key

• Standard 18-inch wheel

thanks guy, so its even more in the Q3's favor than i thought. Standard sunroof, xenons, leather/heated seats... all options in the GLA premium pack.

I'm going to assume things like bluetooh, Mp3/ipod integration and the 6.5 inch screen will stay on for NA...
Seems like the Q3 gives much more value.
MB is just being MB, making you pay far more for things you really want, can we blame them? maybe.
But it really comes down to the bottom line price for comparably equipped cars. It is unlikely that features will be individually selectable, with either brand, and to get a required feature will mean that something else not required is included. That's marketing.

If you want everything, then Audi does not currently have Attention Assist or Collision Prevention Assist (but 2015 is still many months away). The UK pricing is not necessarily an indicator of NA pricing, but a fully loaded GLA seems to be less expensive than a comparable Q3.
It sucks that features are packaged like that but it's seems to be whats best for both ends. If it was individual things you could select it would slow the process down and raise the cost on our end
If the A3 sedan is any indication then Audi is going to put Q3 against GLA cent for cent, option for option...
Yup, Audi is rivaling ALL of the new MB's. Even BMW is with all their new vehicles. Germans almost always compete with each other in every segment.
