Does '260' mean there is more displacement?

Interesting that the '260' is putting out a little more hp and torque than the '250'... >>> (patience in reading the chart...)

Model GLA 200 Dynamic GLA 200 Style GLA 220 4MATIC Style GLA 220 4MATIC Exclusive GLA 260 4MATIC Sport

Rated Output (kW/hp/rpm) 115/156/5300 115/156/5300 135/184/5500 135/184/5500 155/211/5500

Cyl./Displacement (cc) L4/1595 L4/1595 L4/1991 L4/1991 L4/1991

*350 Nm = ~258 fp torque

I am wondering if the GLA 260 is a diesel????

So why is china the only one getting a GLA 260 instead of a GLA250? I know they are just about the same but whats with the number change?

... because the Chinese auto market is exploding beyond wildest imagniation! The GLA is the best seller over there. Have you noticed that now days all luxury products are launched in Shanghai? ... i.e. Cartier watches, Leica cameras, etc... Unfortunately, we here in US we have become non-revelant.

Wow... a little more horse power would of been nice for the USA. We need a GLA 300 or GLA 350. :D
A non AMG variant with a little more horses.

I was just curious on the number change.

As a Chinese GLA 260 owner, my answer may surprise many GLA owners outside China. Because in China, the number '250' is often used as a swear word for stupidity, Mercedes clearly overcame this problem by renaming it 260. Therefore, the configuration of GLA 260 is almost identical to that of GLA 250.
Such renaming can also been found in Mercedes's A, CLA, and C classes for the same reasons. Same approach is practiced by Lexus as well.

Chinese Slang: 250
