DIY Main Battery Replacement?

14K views 9 replies 6 participants last post by  firx11
just speaking from my own experience, i've changed the main battery quite a few times (i was running lightweight batteries for a while, lol) and i've never performed a bms procedure.

just swapped new one in and off i went. didn't see or notice any issues at all afterwards.

firx11, what were you running for "light weight batteries"? I'm wanting to put antigravity lithium ion in my car.

this was the last one i ran (i switched out to a normal size battery a few months ago when my serpentine belt snapped [it was a troubleshooting step but i ended up leaving it in]).

everything ran fine from what i could tell, and i ran a few of these (they barely last a couple years but they're $100 and change shipped so cheap enough to replace).

they did lack the needed CCA's but during normal temps they were fine. saved over 30 lbs (these are 14lbs iirc - something like that).

with the battery box removed (and i understand why its there in the first place, lol) you really unmuffle the turbski. you hear all the lovely sounds :D:cool:
