Hello All,

I am from Manila, Philippines. 2017 GLA200 AMG line owner :) , my 1st Benz :D

Just want to share my experienced (twice) regarding my panel cluster- went dead:(. Anyone experienced this.. see attached photos for your quick reference...

BTW, it happened while I am on E mode and at the same time battery on my fob keys are low (instant message appears on the panel cluster that I have to replace battery on my fob key).

Did replace battery (fob key), and to this day I'm not experiencing it anymore (3 weeks in a row).

Any connection with the panel cluster and our fob keys (if battery is low) ??hmmmm...

Anyways I do have an appointment with our dealership this weekend, service advisor called me this morning that they have the remedy already and are going to update the software (fingers crossed).

Welcome to the GLA forum Jun. I can't speak for your GLA, but that experience seems to be a random Mercedes Benz gremlin. I have had it three times. Once in a 2001 C-Class, the entire dash went dark. Fortunately it was on a 25 MPH street and I was able to pull over and "reboot," shutting down and re-starting, which resolved the issue. I have had a similar occurrence twice with my GLA. Once was on open highway at 60 MPH and the dash went dead, yet in a few seconds it came back to life as if nothing had happened. No fault could be found soon after by the dealer service department. Another time was while exiting highway...there was a quick dead dash and then return to normal. Your experience sounds similar to mine, but I can only provide anecdotal information, no technical solution.

hello I'm also filipino but I'm been living in japan half of my life and I own a 2015 gla AMG line as well.

regarding your concern, I believe I experience the same thing only once and in an instant and I don't think it's connected to the key fob. is yours keyless entry? I find it quite weird that your fob battery needs a replacement already as I never had mine replaced yet ever since I bought it. does your car have eco stop and do you used often when you drive? i've drove in manila before and I know it's not a good place to have eco stop engine since it will drain the battery and the constant stop and go won't charge battery as well. how's the charge of your auxiliary battery so far?
Dead battery in key fob will have nothing to do with instrument cluster going dark. Might want to replace the fuse. Could be an intermittent problem there.
