Wow, dealer wants $2578.44 to replace "thermostat" and update software on ME control unit.
Is that insane? Have others had this fixed and paid that amount? Car is out of warranty.
Mercedes 2015 GLA 250, 44k miles.

Benz has a way of requiring remove/replace of built up subassemblies and therefore more costly parts and more labor given a larger assembly to work around. A coolant t'stat in most other vehicles, where you can simply replace just that part, is way less expensive and easier to accomplish.
