Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has installed a dash cam into their GLA?

I'm looking into getting a Blackvue for when my GLA arrives but I'm concerned that with all the electronics a dash cam is going to interfere or damage the electronics?

I would go on DashCamTalk and scan thru the posts there…I found one quickly that noted an issue specific to a radar detector. Point is, appears there could be problems with GPS and WiFi connectivity:

I have an Escort Max radar detector close to my camera. Ever since the install my Max is having a difficult time acquiring a GPS signal. The detector is above the camera too and a clear sky.

Also, I have the Power Magic Pro installed in the dash and since this time also my remote for my door have to be within 10' to open the doors. Something wacky is going on here.

Thanks for the forum recommendation SSBGLA45! I'll check it out for anything on the Blackvue. Problem is that there isn't much information about installing it into a GLA :(

Installed mini 0806 good reviews and video on utube... hard wired it with hard wire kit that i ordered with the dash cam with CPL lens aswell from china, to passenger fuse box behind carpet utilising add on fuse mini blade onto radio accessories with constant live, so have to switch dashcam off before locking car, turns on automatically when I open and start car, 5amp standard and 2 amp Grey for cam on add on fuse. the Parking Guard Mount is not in production as of yet so only have the standard gps mount, dashcam is central on screen as I have a large plastic console ie traffic assist recognition. Gets gps signal fine

I had a blackvue on my previous vehicle (C350) I never had any issues with it interfering with other electronics. Now that you bring it up I still have it somewhere in my house I should throw it on. :)

I installed a DDPai M6+ and it never caused interference. Unfortunately it died recently after 10 months and I'm looking for a better cam. Would really like to see a video of a rear-cam install.

I know this is an old thread, but thought I put a picture here of the fuse. I just replaced the cigarette lighter socket fuse. The local MB dealer gave me a free replacement fuse and that did not have an "S" on it.

I've had mine installed for over a year and so far it's been good. Mine is different from the ones pictured because mine uses the suction cup to hold it in place. I went simple and hard wired it to the cigarette lighter. If I remember I will post pictures.

Remember that the dash cam uses 5.5v and the car pushes 12v soooo you have to keep the cigar plug and either use a female cigar plug with the two cables coming out of it and plug that into the cigar lighter cables. There are many ways but please the plug the cables directly into the lighter without the lighter male plug because it will fry it.

This is what I have. Bought this off Amazon last year. Have not decided to connect it directly into the car wiring. Still using the lighter connector.

Here is a video of my road trip last year.
