Mercedes-Benz has issued an internal announcement to U.S. dealers that confirms CarPlay will be supported in a number of 2016 model year vehicles starting with December 1, 2015 or January 8, 2016 production or later.

If only I waited two more months for my 2016 GLA. All I wanted was NAV and could of used the one on my iphone i guess. Oh well, i got the Garmin SD now. I don't think I wanted to be facebooking while driving anyways.

I dont think so, it requires a build date of December 1, 2015 or later...

I spoke to several people from MB USA and they said it isn't possible because vehicles prior 12/1/15 don't have the necessary harnesses. They also said they don't plan on making a retro fit kit for it.

I'm going to ask some custom shops if it possible. I've seen some factory fit installs for Volkswagen and others.

Interesting, Pioener has a firmware update for CarPlay you can download and upload via USB for their older head units. In my GLA there is a USB slot, not sure MB can't do the same?

Now im just curious about my built, built date according to netstar for the last few months was 11/30/15 is that the same as 12/1/2015???? did i seriously miss this by a day? hahaha

Your build sheet should say Smartphone compatible. The stand alone price for CarPlay is $350.
