Mercedes is teasing the 2015 GLA, its new compact crossover, ahead of the planned Frankfurt Motor Show debut early next month.
The company released a teaser video of the new crossover. While the vehicle isn’t completely revealed in any of the clips, it hints at how heavily the production car was influenced by the Concept GLA shown during the Shanghai Auto Show this year.
Five-spoke alloy wheels, headlights borrowed from the new CLA and side sills are all visible in the clip. There’s also a glimpse of the tail lights and rear bumper.
Two design sketches were also released through the brand’s Facebook account offer a preview of the car’s body styling and shape. The drawings show a heavily styled, muscular looking hood with bulging fenders and dual exhaust pipes.
There don’t seem to be any AMG badges, which would suggest that this is the normal GLA. Previous reports speculated that the car will be offered with a range of engines including a turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder with 208 hp and a more powerful 330-hp mill for AMG models.
