Mercedes‘ new crossover based on its front-wheel drive platform, the GLA, was caught in spy photos during cold weather testing today.
Based on the MFA platform, which it shared with the A- and B-Class models, the small crossover will be offered with both front- and all-wheel drive.
While the car is still heavily camouflaged, you can still make out a more muscular front end than the A-Class and of course, increased ground clearance. The GLA also follows the new A-Class in taking on a more rounded shape which will distinguish it from the boxy GLK.
Finally, it will also share engine options with the A- and B-Class cars meaning it will use both gasoline and diesel four-cylinders, although the diesel version likely won’t reach the U.S. market when it reaches showrooms in 2014.
