As posted on some posts I tried with MB dealer to retrofit Apple Car Play. I replace USB Module under armrest , and after went to MB dealer for coding. Unfortunately he tried coding without upgrading Headunit (Firmware version 5 - 11-2015) and car play failed.
You don't really need any Photos, it's a simple job. All you need is the A1565405605 Cable. All it took was removing the 3 Pin Connectors from the A1565405605 (white end) Cable and inserting them in to the existing White Connector in the Overhead Control Unit (N70). It uses the 1, the 4 and the 7 Pins.
To remove the Pins from the White connector you need Large Paper Clip inserted in the the face of the white connector. Looking at the front of the connector there are 16 holes. The top and bottom most are where you insert the Paper clip to release the Pin's Lock. You will need to open the two access covers to depress the Lock for the final release. Then just insert the pins in to the existing Connector according to the colors in the attached Photo.
I have 2016 GLE350, I have carplay in the car but android auto is not showing up. I have a smartphone USB, and everything else.. Carplay works without a trouble. Got all the telematics updates as well.
So how do we activate the Android bro? You said to PM you.
