Dealer replacing head unit

Since we've had our 2016 GLA45, we've never been happy with the voice recognition for navigation or the volume output from bluetooth audio sources. The dealer has updated software and replaced the microphone but neither issue improved. It's at the dealer now and they've offered to replace the head unit. It will be interesting to see what version of head unit we end up with. Ours was produced prior to Android Auto being included with our packages. Hopefully the problems are solved! We have a 2019 GLA250 as a loaner in the meantime.

Also got Service A0 today... so the car is on it's 4th air filter now with only 14k miles... I feel like I'm wasting money buying new air filters every year but want to keep the warranty...

1. For the voice recognition. Did you go through the set up where it connects to your own voice? It's like a 10 minute process where you say a bunch of things so it recognizes your voice and picks up better once this is done, but still no where near perfect... One tip though if you're entering text like for nav you can use the number pad like texting on an old phone and saves the pain of scrolling the knob

2. There is a setting to volume boost bluetooth. If you haven't tried that, it is a noticeable difference. Connecting your phone with the mercedes cable and using the media interface setting instead of bluetooth is even more noticeable though.

Why have you replaced 4 filters? Is the dealer telling you to? Watch out because stuff like engine filter is a HUGE money grab for the dealer.. Even if it needs to be done they're probably charging you around $150 to loosen 4 nuts and swap a filter that you could walk back to the parts dept and buy yourself for $50-60 and change in 5 min. Every 10k miles is fine for engine air filter too by the way
