AMG steering wheel

Hey all, new here, just got a 2019 in polar white, with nearly all the goodies, but for some reason, the person that ordered it, did not get the AMG wheel

Dealer gave me the typical uninformed "cant be done" Proly cost 5 grand, etc

So I love the seats, kinda want the wheel to complete the interior.
is there a known reason preventing me from getting the AMG wheel from online MB parts, or a wrecked car, swapping the airbag into it, and installing it in my car ?

THANK IN ADVANCE

Are you talking about the alcantera wheel or just talking about this trim??

This

to This?

If this trim is what you want, you can buy one from a CLS63 ( i forgot which specific year)for about oem120-140$ , unscrew the 4 screws behind the old trim and put on the new ones. Some minor mods need to be done but i can go into details if you want.

Edit: here are the parts number for the trim
A21746400132A17 upper
A21746401132A17 lower

Thanks for the reply !
getting creative like that is what make a forum worth while.

But yeah, I want the whole wheel. To match the seats, and the nice feel, and the red stripe.
that has to be there to get the 167mph unlock. that cool little bit of red leather.

I can't imagine merc would change out the colum harness for that. its gotta plug and play, I'm just unsure about what years that option was there, for a boneyard search. I also found the terminology kinda ambiguos when searching thru the OEM online parts sites

I just noticed you put P/N in your post, Inspired me to try again @m-type;

So, to all observing, check this link.

my current wheel is like the one pictured. which I assume is the standard wheel, and it has a flat bottom

are there 45's with a round wheel?

and "lane keep" does that refer to the amber triangles in the mirrors? and if so, is that implying the steering is involved, like actively taking control ? cuz I don't think I have that, just a chirp, turns red, and three different sensitivities.

So, any one wanna hazard a guess which of these parts is the one thats the $800 AMG option, having the alcantara and a red 12oclock stripe?

The orange triangles are for the blindspot assist.

The speed delimiter allowing 167 mph is not tied into the steering wheel.

Rodger that Wayne, That was meant to be humorous, but I see that while I was editing the post, I edited the funny part out as well.

your thoughts on the nomenclature in the link?

Three days with almost 2000 miles of twisties ... I may have been the one who missed the humor!!!

Refer to the DOG (Dealer Order Guide) for nomenclature. There are links to this on the Forum via the search feature.

Or go to the MB website under the build your own section.

I've got the information in the GLA book we've assembled but don't have that at my fingertips right now.
