Don’t underestimate this little one. Even in base form, it has an advanced all-wheel drive system, as well as real-world off-road capabilities, but in AMG-tuned spec, it's an impressive crossover.
A downside for them was 'expensive with options', which makes me wonder if this is their first MB. One thing everyone knows about MB is that when you start adding on options, pricing jumps up, quick.
The offroad thing should be seen in perspective. The base gla will have an offroad pack available with 8 or 9 inches of clearance and some electro trickery with decent control etc so probably better than subaru crosstrek etc. The 45 however with 5 inches of clearance and tight suspension travel will suck on ice pack and maybe be marginally better fitted with 18s to dampen it, but again in perspective vs a golf r, audi s3 etc it will hold its own
Top Gear magazine just tested the GLA 45 on the ice pack and it much better than expected - better in fact than the Audi RS3.
