Automatic Gearbox Problems

Hi All,

Newbie here.

Took delivery of a 19 plate GLA 180 Urban Edition in April.

I know it's a fairly basic model but I'm really struggling with the automatic gearbox, it's just not right.

I've had it back at the MB garage twice now, the first time they said they had adjusted it, I saw no change so I took it back last week and they say there are no error faults coming up in the diagnostics and the technician had driven it and it's fine.

Well, it's not!

I noticed it was 'sluggish' from the off but thought I might be being harsh and comparing it to my previous SLk which was like a rocket compared to this. However, passengers have commented on the sounds, it really struggles to change gear. Coming down the motorway the other night, in a relatively short distance of say, 15 miles or so, there were three separate episodes when the gears were not performing as expected, i.e. at one point, it just wouldn't move from 5th gear - either up or down.

On four separate occasions now I've had the brake refusing to depress to allow me to put the car into gear, this has gone on for five or so minutes on each occasion. This morning I had a red message telling to 'release the parking brake'. Yet MB in Warrington has told me there's nothing wrong with this car!!!

Anyone had similar?
